Cleveland Christmas

After celebrating in Greenwood, we moved on over for Christmas in Cleveland. Morgan had a big time, and she did great for being away from home so much. I will tell you this - Morgan is a charmer. She bonded with her boy cousins in Greenwood (see pic in previous post of Morgan with cousin Trevor), and she had a big time with her Uncle Russ and Grandfather in Cleveland. Her Grandfather isn't much for posing in pictures, but he held her probably more than anyone! We were so blessed this Christmas with family and of course presents. Thank you to all our friends and family for making our holiday such a memorable one. We love you and wish everyone a great 2009!

This is Morgan posing with BFF Bentley in matching outfits! Too cute!
This is Morgan on the way home today - pooped from all the holiday festivities!

Greenwood Christmas

We had a lovely Christmas in Greenwood this year, especially with our new addition John Reed. Mo was very intersted in the baby, and she enjoyed "petting" him. We can wait to see them in action next year. Enjoy the pictures.

School Christmas Program

Morgan played the part of cherub in her school Christmas program. It was organized chaos, but Morgan did a wonderful job. Below is one of her teachers, Ms. Ruby and classmate Kate.

Fun in the Tub

Morgan gave us some good footage in the tub the other night. Matt kept squirting her with one of her bath toys. Matt's been doing that since Morgan was 4 weeks old, but all of a sudden she found it hilarious. I love to hear her laugh like this. Warning - her laughter is contagious.

Morgan's First Spaghetti Supper

Morgan is a fan of spaghetti. At least the mess stayed on the high chair. I'm not so sure I'm going to be so lucky when we start learning to eat with actual utensils...

Nephews

We're proud of our nephews. I just wanted to post these cute and funny pictures of our nephew Rhodes who is 7 and John Reed who is 1 week old! And we are looking forward to adding another nephew to the family in May!

Funny Girl

Let me set this up for you. Morgan likes to play with this silver make-up brush that she pulls out of the bathroom cabinet. It's the Clinque silver tube brush that comes with every "free gift" set - you ladies know what I'm talking about. Today, Morgan walked around the house with it sticking out of her mouth for literally 30 minutes. She would take it out for a few, but stick it right back in. This may be one of those "you had to be there" moments, but I just got tickled at it. Maybe you'll enjoy too!

John Reed Trusty, III

The world welcomed John Reed Trusty, III yesterday at 5:40ish pm. He weighed 7 lbs 9 oz and has TONS of hair. They say he looks like a good mix of both mom and dad. Everyone is doing well. Morgan is pumped to have a little cuz to boss around soon! We also found out over Thanksgiving that Russell and Mandi are going to have a baby boy in May. So Morgan is going to be surrounded by boy cousins. She's going to have lots of protection, so to all you future boyfriends out there - BEWARE...

Photo Frustration...

We had the perfect settings for a Christmas photo session today. Morgan was in a delightful mood. We were free of any bruises or eczema breakouts, and she looked TOO cute in her little Christmas dress. The sun was out, and I just knew we were going to get "the photo" in no time. I'd have those Christmas cards ordered by December 1st. Yeah, right. We had 2 main issues - #1 getting Morgan to stay still and #2 getting Morgan to actually look at the camera. She was a trip throughout the whole thing so it was hard to get mad at her. Here are some funny outtakes from our session today.

Happy Thanksgiving!

We wish everyone save travels and happy eating! Morgan is excited for her first taste of dressing (her mama's favorite)!

C Saves the Day

It was a rough week in the Trusty household. Baby girl came down with a number of ailments, including her first ear infections. Yes, plural. Poor girl got double ear infections! Matt and I tagged team staying home with Morgan for 2 days, but we both had a lot going on at work. So C came in and saved the day when Morgan still wasn't feeling better. She stayed home with Morgan Thursday and Friday. I found the below picture on my camera this morning that C must have taken. Looks like they had some fun together even though poor girl didn't feel well. Thanks so much C - we really appreciate you!

Mama's bad habits

Morgan may be picking up on some of her mama's bad habits - like talking on the phone too much and watching too much TV. This morning, Morgan sat completely still for nearly 30 minutes watching Jack's Big Music Show. She's NEVER done that. She usually tops out at 10 minutes of a Baby Einstein. And she's starting holding the phone up to her ear like she's talking. My guess is she'll be blogging in no time!

Quick Update

Ever since the walking started, we've been busy! You have to watch this little one closely these days. Here are just some quick random pics. Morgan will pull all the toys out of her basket, then crawl into it. Pretty funny stuff. She's also loving her outdoor swing these days!

More Halloween Pics

Morgan Peacock greeted all sorts of scary monsters this evening and passed out lots of candy. We snapped a few more pics of her in costume before the trick-or-treaters arrived! Happy Halloween everyone!

Hayride

Morgan got dressed up in her Halloween costume today to go for a hayride. Is her peacock costume not the cutest? Miss Hayes came too, so we snapped a quick shot of the girls and their daddies. Morgan didn't know what to think of the hayride, but she just loves to be outside! So it was a good day!

Walking!

Big Girl!

Morgan has had a BIG week! She just started walking tonight! I did not see this coming. She's been cruising around the furniture for a while, but she was so wobbly I thought walking was still a few weeks away. Big girl proved me wrong! We got footage of some of her first steps! Please disregard the mess and the diaper ;)

Also, Morgan had a play date on Monday with her friend Hayes. School was closed this Monday, so Matt kept Morgan AND Hayes all by himself! Matt said Mo was quite intrigued with her friend. She apparently kept sticking her finger in Hayes' mouth... Matt said the babysitting went great, and both girls were complete angels. Here are some cute pictures of their playdate.

Morgan's Puppy Party

We had Morgan's 1st birthday party today with a puppy theme. All our family came into town to oohhh and ahhh over the big birthday girl. We had a big time. I was nervous things were going to take a disastrous turn when Morgan grabbed the actual flame of her birthday candle, but she bounced back like a champ. Thanks to everyone for the great gifts! Enjoy our pics!
The "pup-cakes"...
Devouring the "pup-cake"...
Having more fun with the ribbon than the actual presents...
Morgan's "pup-house" that C made...

Cabinets and Tutus

Morgan was sick last week with a fever virus. So I let her get away with more than normal b/c poor thing didn't feel well. This kid can terrorize a cabinet. She opened one of our cabinets in the den and pulled every thing out of it. Then she turns around and grins as if she's proud of it!
This picture cracks me up. Nana has been wanting to take Morgan's picture in a tutu for some time. She finally got her wish this weekend. I just thought Mo looked hilarious from the rear crawling in the big fluffy tutu, so I snapped a shot. Future blackmail!

Ruben finally warms up to Morgan...

Ruben has finally started to warm up to Morgan - a little bit. Morgan likes to pick up his toys and hand them to Ruben. It's so sweet. Ruben knows not to be rough with her, so he'll just inch up and grab it out of her hand (sometimes). It makes Mo squeal, so we love to watch it. Of course, Ruben would rather Matt be rough and play tug-a-war with him. But we'll take what affection we can get out of Ruben!

Girls Can Do It Too!

Morgan wanted to show Carter Rowe and Micah Malouf that boys aren't the only ones who can crawl onto fireplaces! This was the first time we've seen Morgan "climb" onto something. A new and dangerous trick ... wonder what's next??

Update - Morgan can now crawl into the dishwasher. I can't believe the door can support her, but Miss Thing crawled right into it tonight!

School Pictures

Morgan got all dressed up this morning for school pictures. I thought she looked pretty cute! I can't wait to see how the class picture turns out. Can you imagine getting 15 one year olds together for a photo????

Helping out

To say that Morgan is busy is an understatement. She injects herself into anything you are doing. Here, she decides she wants to help Daddy bathe the red eye dog with the green dog shampoo.

Morgan loves a puppy

This is a Youtube clip from the summer we forgot to post. We went to see Doug and Mariah in Starkville. Bernie, their dog, took a liking to Morgan and the feeling was mutual as you will hear. The sound on this one is the best thing about it so make sure your volume is up.

Doing Laundry?

Morgan likes to (1) open & close doors and (2) empty baskets. Opening the door to her closet then throwing all the clothes out of the laundry basket is the perfect game for her. Only yesterday she couldn't quite reach one of her shirts. Poor thing is top heavy with that noggin of hers so her feet ended up straight in the air. It was probably funnier in person...
