Tubes

Mary Alice got tubes in her ears this morning. The poor thing has had back to back ear infections, so we were not too disappointed. We got up super early, but Mary Alice was still in a pretty good mood. She charmed the pants off everyone in the waiting room. The procedure wasn't too bad, but the aftermath was no picnic. Let's just say Mary Alice is not a fan of doctor's right now. She bounced back pretty quickly though. While Mary Alice was recovering, Morgan got a treat and went to the Children's museum with Cee and Rhodes. By the time she got back, Mary Alice was awake and ready to go. We played outside in this beautiful weather and all took advantage of being home together. All in all, not a bad day!

This and That

We haven't been up to much lately. Just hanging out and enjoying the weather. Below are two fairies we found playing in our back yard on Sunday :)
Said fairies were also spotted hanging in Mary Alice's birthday tent.

Morgan is also having a hard time letting go of Mardi Gras.

Birthday Girl

Mary Alice's 1st birthday was this weekend! We woke up to a pancake breakfast and quickly transitioned to party mode. We had a great gathering with family and celebrated our sweet girl's first year of life. I am so sad my baby is growing up, but she sure is fun to watch!

Mary Alice slept through the first hour of her party, so when she got up we got so excited and jumped straight to the cupcake. She grabbed right at it but took a while before she finally took a bite.

But it didn't take her long to figure it out!

She also had a big time opening presents. Cousin Rhodes picked out one of her favorites all by himself - a pink sock monkey!

The Elmo tent was also a big hit. With Morgan too...

Our Valentine's

The girls had a low key but sweet Valentines Day. Matt and I took lunch to Morgan's class (which she was not as impressed with as I would have hoped), and we had a low key night at home with cupcakes and lots of play.

Our sweet Mary Alice is turning ONE this week! I can hardly stand it. She's getting so big and is into everything. When we get home from school every day, she stands at Morgan's table and pounds her hands until Morgan shares her goldfish. She's not walking yet, but still pulling up on everything and cruising a little bit.

Morgan decided to wake Mary Alice up by crawling in the crib with her the other day. They ended up having a pretty good time hanging out in there.

Morgan finally decided to strike some poses for me yesterday. She's never been keen on cameras, so I was pretty shocked. She kept saying "Mom, cheese me!".

Mary Alice is getting stronger pulling up on EVERYthing, but she's still timid about taking any actual steps. Morgan's trying to encourage her, and she will not give up!

Here Comes Trouble!

Mary Alice's mobility has risen to a new level. She's quick as can be crawling around the floor. She can zip across the room in the time it takes to turn your head. This weekend, she also started pulling up and crawling up steps. We have a lot of step-downs in our house, so I've been so worried about this with her. She can crawl up, but I dread the day she tries to crawl down when I'm not looking!!

Happy New Year

We rang in the New Year with our friends the McCarras. Morgan and Hayes had a blast playing dress up and running all over the house. Mary Alice just sat back and enjoyed the action. Baby Reese slept through the whole party. We got our greens and black eye peas in, so we are wishing for a fantastic 2012!

This is the new scene in my house. We got an iPad in November, and Morgan is obsessed. If we let her, she would play on it all day and all night. Now Mary Alice is starting to get interested. Sometimes Morgan tries to show her a few tricks.
